Project type: internacional Duration: may 2008 - october 2012 Project manager: EU – Regionalmanagement Oststeiermark, Austria Within the project City Cooperation a close cooperation between cities of the border regions in East Austrian Styria, East Slovenia and Southeast Hungary will be established for the first time, with intent to form a common future. Objectives: 1. Development of a permanent partnership of all project participating cities (22) in three-regional triangle between 2. Common analysis of a situation and experience exchange between project participating cities. 3. Development of a coordinated strategy for into future oriented positioning of cities in border region on following fields: - intensifying cooperation of cities in and between countries of the border region, - preserving and reviving city centers as traditional commerce centers with large social and cultural values for urban and regional identity, - positioning cities in three-regional triangle as economic intersection between middle, east and southeast - encouraging the economic growth of the undertakings in the cities as accelerators for a common development of the border region, - intensifying social and economic connections on all levels between cities and regions of the border region.
4. Development of a common pilot projects, activities, actions and setting up a common development strategy. 5. Development and establishment of an organization model for planning and realization of those common activities in and between individual countries. 6. Forming the concept for a sustainable establishment of jointly designed strategy and for the continuation of cooperation after the concept / project presentation. Descriptions / Results: 1. Establishment of a chosen pilot projects on worked out strategy field of a commonly defined leading sectors of cooperation. 7. Formation of a common concept for a sustainable cooperation after the project presentation. |
